WPC integrates into ICCA structure

On 2 June 2026, the World Plastics Council (WPC) has formally integrated into the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA).

“The World Plastics Council is recognised as a trusted global platform for dialogue and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Integrating into the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) will help us increase our impact through closer alignment with the broader chemicals industry and deliver effective solutions that benefit people and the planet,” said Benny Mermans, outgoing Chairman of the World Plastics Council after signing the integration statement at the ICCA meeting in Colorado Springs (USA).

This step reflects a shared commitment to stronger global industry coordination and a more effective, unified voice on plastics within the broader chemicals agenda. The integration ensures continuity of WPC’s work, priorities and engagement, while strengthening alignment with ICCA’s global advocacy and policy activities.

All ongoing activities, partnerships and engagement channels will continue within the new structure.
