On Saturday 27 May, executives from across the plastics value chain gathered in Paris in advance of the 2nd Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee meeting to discuss pathways to addressing plastic waste in the environment, unleashing innovation, and driving circularity.
Government delegates from developed, developing, small island states, plastic producing, and non-producing countries were in attendance to engage with business leaders. The platform enabled governments to outline their vision for eliminating plastic pollution and ask questions of leading industry executives through a moderated discussion format.
The dialogue sought to identify common areas of agreement and key measures for how a well-crafter agreement can accelerate industry and government efforts to address the global challenge of plastic waste.
